Pregnancy Testing

We provide laboratory quality urine pregnancy testing that is accurate 7 to 10 days after conception. Our pregnancy tests are 99% accurate and are done in a private setting with results given during a woman’s initial appointment.

Ultrasound Services

For women who are considering abortion, an ultrasound is offered to help answer the following questions:

• Is the pregnancy located where it should be (in the uterus not the fallopian tube)?
• What is the gestational age of the pregnancy (how far along is the pregnancy)?
• Are there any indicators for possible miscarriage since the miscarriage rate is 1 in 4?

Pregnancy Options Counseling

Options counseling is done by trained peer counselors with the stated intent of helping a woman who is facing an unplanned pregnancy recognize that she faces a very serious and difficult decision that will permanently affect both mother and child. In the safety and confidentiality of a counseling session, a woman is able to share her fears, her uncertainties, and her hopes regarding her pregnancy. The counselor has the opportunity to listen, understand, and point the woman to the possibility of preserving the life within her while giving her information about all her options. When a woman is faced with an unplanned pregnancy, she has three legal opportunities: to parent, to choose adoption, or to abort. The final decision is ultimately the woman’s but at AWC she is presented with real options. We seek to educate her regarding the joys and struggles of parenting, the adoption process, and the realities and risks involved with abortion.

Parenting Support Program

AWC offers a host of support programs for our mothers. One-on-one mentoring, group parenting classes, and partnering with a local church to offer support and assistance to mothers in need are vital parts of our ministry.

Sexual Integrity

AWC’s goal is to communicate to women of all ages their value and worth as individuals and to equip them with the tools and information they need to make healthy, life-affirming choices about their sexuality.

Community resource referrals

AWC partners with many local resource agencies to help our mothers receive the ongoing help and support they need to successfully parent. Each center is equipped with a local resource book to help women receive aid for material resources such as clothing, food, and furniture as well as referrals for medical care or housing programs.

Post Abortion Counseling

Recent statistics show that just over 1 in 3 American women will have an abortion by the time they reach the age of 45. Women who have had abortions may face emotional numbness, guilt, depression and a variety of other difficult emotions following their abortions. Our society has left these women few safe places to talk about their post abortion grief and the realities of the impact it has had on their lives. At AWC we seek to provide hope and healing to individuals – whether a client or a sister in Christ – affected by abortion. We provide individual counseling sessions or a group Bible Study using the book Forgiven and Set Free by Linda Cochrane.
